New appointments

Valikhon Mulloyev, formerly chief of the division for combating human trafficking at the Interior Ministry organize crime control department (UBOP), has been appointed to head the Khatlon regional state body empowered to combat organized crime.

Anvar Taghoymurodov, formerly head of the Interior Ministry organized crime control department (UBOP), has been appointed deputy interior minister.

Rustam Emomali has been appointed to head the Customs Service department to combat smuggling and violation of customs regulations.

The Ministry of Transport and Communications was divided into two separate bodies – the Ministry of Transport and the Communications Service under the Government of Tajikistan.

It is also proposed to relieve deputy chairman and two members of the Central Commission for Elections and Referenda in connection with transfer to other jobs.

By government’s decrees Mahmoudjon Sobirov, formerly Deputy Foreign Minister, has been appointed the First Deputy Foreign Minister and Nizomiddin Zohiodv, who had previously worked as Chancellor of Khujand State University, has been appointed Deputy Foreign Minister.
